The New England Revolution will host Lionel Messi and the Inter Miami squad at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on November 1 at 7:00 p.m.
This match marks the final regular season home game for the Revolution before the MLS playoffs. It is also potentially the last time Messi plays in Massachusetts after his departure from the Argentine national team.
Messi’s presence typically draws large crowds to the stadium. In April 2024, 65,612 spectators attended a game where he scored twice in a 4-1 victory for Miami. That figure remains the attendance record for the club.
The contest pits two top teams from the Eastern Conference against each other. Following the October 17 matchday, Inter Miami held the second position in the East with 55 points. The Revolution sat in third place with 52 points. The Revolution has qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2023, a status they secured in mid-October.
The standings may shift before the match begins. The Revolution will play the Philadelphia Union on Saturday prior to hosting Miami. Earlier this year, the two sides drew 1-1 in April at Inter Miami’s home. Carles Gil scored for New England, while Germán Berterame equalized for Inter Miami.
Messi, 39, played his final international match for Argentina against Benin in Buenos Aires on October 6. He announced his retirement from the national team on August 31. In the MLS this season, he has recorded 25 goals and 14 assists across 27 games. His contract with Inter Miami extends through the end of the 2028 season.
Inter Miami also fields teammate Rodrigo de Paul and Brazilian midfielder Casemiro. Casemiro will visit Foxborough for the first time since joining the MLS. Team managers will announce starting lineups closer to the game. Tickets are available at revolutionsoccer.net/tickets or by calling 1-877-GET-REVS. Fans can also use a special train service to reach Foxborough, though seats are limited.
